SIMSA Virtual Aviation Club
Aircraft types approved for Vitual Aviation by SIMSA
Which aircraft are approved by SIMSA?
There is a large amount of freeware aircraft available on most of the freeware websites, such as:
However, only certain amount of aircraft have been flown and tested by the SIMSA founders and these aircraft were considered to be of high realism, quality and precision. These aircraft range from the small de Havilland Chipmunk to the mighty Boeing 747SP.
But we try our best to use aircraft that are popular and commonly used in South Africa and available as freeware.
Our goal is to attract the general public, the aviation enthusiast and the experienced real-world pilot to our organisation by ensuring their Virtual Aviation experience with us is a memorable one. The public find our multiplayer sessions to be highly realistic comparing to the single player modes from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. We have witnessed many members, that joined the SIMSA Virtual Aviation Club, gain a vast amount of knowledge of instrument and procedural flying from our monthly sessions.
Upon joining SIMSA you will receive a SIMISA "Kit". This will contain all the aircraft approved by SIMSA and the correct versions of software for those aircraft. This ensures that all players have the identical aircraft software inclduing type, colour scheme and latest "tweaks" etc. Otherewise there would be major problems when "flying on the network if there were for example two different software versions of the same aircraft type."
