SIMSA Virtual Aviation Club
How it works
All members plug in to a Network Hub via a network cable.
Once connected you will start flight simulator multiplayer and an IP address (Internet Protocol) will be located.
The airport, aircraft parking bay and flight plan will be discussed in the short but crucial briefing.
Select fly now, put your headsets on and ask tower for clearance.
Be nice, be precise, consider all other pilots on the LAN (Local Area Network).

A SIMSA Virtual Aviation Club session in progress
Unfortunately not a pretty sight but gives one a good insight as to how it all fits together. The network hub is on the floor with all the network cables from the pilots' computers connected to it. The network hub is in turn connected to a server, supplied by the club and operated by one of the SIMSA session leaders.
Electricty extension cables provide power to the computers, screens and other peripheral equipment. The layout is sensible in that the cables are kept in the centre surrounded by tables. This ensures that cables will not be disturbed by anyone walking about during a session.

The ATC (Air Traffic Controller) has his hands full directing up to twenty four aircraft in a session. |

Deep in concentration. |
