Master-Sim Custom-Built Cockpit Simulators
Developing and customising purpose-built, recreational and procedural aircraft cockpit simulators, Master-Sim has quickly developed into a well respected and capable outfit supplying such customers as Protea Hotels and various flying schools with cost-effective and fun solutions to otherwise expensive training and entertainment options.
Hotels and shopping centres successfully use Master-Sim cockpit simulators to entertain visitors for hours, and flying schools use them to teach procedures around airmanship and navigation aspects.
The concepts are kept simple, and the construction of the actual cockpit is able to be customised around any of the basic styles available. Cockpit size, design and function are carefully determined in accordance with the “outside view” seen through the cockpit windows, in order to keep perspective and yet provide realism not previously seen in recreational simulators. Total immersion is easily experienced within the cockpit, and often visually induced vertigo or motion sickness affects the unwary even though the simulator is actually static.
Hardware and fittings are a combination of propriety modules as well as custom-built equipment. Software is based around Microsoft’s Flight Simulator 2004, which is widely accepted as a great flight simulator programme, but is enhanced significantly with additional aircraft type and actual aircraft performance and visual details, as well as scenery particularly based around the customer’s area of operation.
Variations include:
Ø Single Control, Single Seater, piston powered private type aircraft
Ø Single Control, Single Seater, jet fighter type aircraft
Ø Dual Control, Dual Seat, airliner type aircraft
Videos are available of these simulators in action, and prospective customers are welcome to arrange visits to experience these simulators together with one of the Master-Sim developers to experience the units before confirming order details.
As founder members of SIMSA, Mauri Mazzanti and Steve Schwartz continue to develop the Master-Sim product lines, and as such welcome any customised versions being commissioned. However, wherever a cockpit type flight simulator is in use in a hotel somewhere in Southern Africa, the fact that it has been SIMSA built is proud recognition of the Master-Sim concept in action. Long may the legacy of flying being fun continue!
